Community Profile

Founded in 1837, Cannelton is a historical sandstone community. The sandstone walls and buildings make our city a unique place to live and visit. The community is rural and has manufacturing jobs available. The city is along the Ohio River and offers fishing, camping and water sports. The nearby Hoosier National Forest welcomes hunters, vacation cabins and many trails.

Cannelton offers the quality of small city living and quick access to the Bob Cummings - Lincoln Trail Bridge. Our children attend Cannelton City Schools. We have beautiful churches, safe schools and a caring community.

We invite you to visit and live in our community and welcome any small business entrepreneurs to consider a business in our city.

City Population:  1563
